If you are interested in a mobile version of the Netflix API, vote up @ http://blog.pyxismobile.com/2008/10/app-from-scra-1.html. We are having a little contest to determine which internally configured application we want to release and support to the public.

We built the app for an internal contest using the Netflix API and are hoping we can release it publicly given enough interest. We would support BlackBerry and Windows Mobile to start off with iPhone and Android support to follow.

Though a version of the Netflix site optimized for iPhone would certainly be nice, I would much prefer an actual app (through the new app store in iTunes). It should include the ability to add/delete/reorder movies in the queue (via drag and drop), search and let you see what is in the mail/at home. Pretty much what is already in the previously mentioned 'iflix'. Please give us an "official" Netflix app.

I think it's ironic that your using an iphone in connection with netflix when those of us who have apple computers can't use the instant watch option on our computers. I think it is very annoying that I am essentially paying for these movies and I can't watch them because I have a mac. I understand netflix is having difficulties making the program apply with mac's but it seems this problem has lasted a long time and it does not seem netflix is proactively trying to fix it. So I'm frustrated!

Not sure if I saw an exact post on this so here's my suggestion (completely free of charge and any royalty demands!):

Love the ability to search movies and add them to my DVD queue using mobile.netflix.com (especially on my iPhone).

Please add this functionality for the Watch Instantly Queue also! That way if someone mentions a great movie, I can add it right away and not have to jot it somewhere, only to forget it.

Also, love the Roku NetFlix player (about to order) - would love to see more incarnations of this, especially with HD support.

I love the mobile version of Netflix. I don't know how many times I've heard a movie mentioned and wanted to add it to my queue, and being able to pull out my phone and use a fast loading site to find and add the movie has been awesome. It's faster than IMDB, too, so I can get the important details or name an actor much faster (that is, before the conversation has moved on to something else).

I use the Netflix Mobile link both on my Blackjack (Windows Mobile), and via a text-mode browser ELinks (don't ask), and it works well-enough for what it's for.

A small criticism/commment: Generally on a mobile browser, the CONNECTION speed for each round-trip is the issue -- getting some extra text is fast. That said, paging through 10-to-a-screen listings is tedious; I'd rather see 50-to-a-screen.

I don't use it for any serious queue-work; just for making sure I get my favorite of my top-10-or-20 pending films.

Yes! I'm thrilled to see the Watch Now icon in the queue (something I've wanted for a long time). Also, like the other subtle changes to the queue (the open box at the bottom). Was curious of the new #'ing system (# of movies listed in queue, rather than the total including saved) meant that only available DVDs would count towards 500? Exciting if that's the case-- I had already gained ~90 spots when I moved all "watch now" into a list. Thanks Netflix!

Let me add to that: I really like the new "play" feature in the queue, but I'm less thrilled about the new design for the search results.

It bothers me that I no longer can "filter" the irrelevant results. If I search on "capote" I can either mean the person or the movie, and in the old search I could just click on the proper tab, but no more. It may just be a matter of becoming used to it, but it seems to me that the new design is a step back.

Was it designed by the same... "person" who designed the new New Releases?

Two points:
-I just use the full-blown Netflix site on my iPhone.
-As long as the phone is on silent, they aren't talking on the phone, and its before the movie starts, I don't care if people's phones are out. Once the movie starts, however, all bets are off.
