I loved the "releasing next week" page. Now I have to bring up 3 windows to research what is coming up from other sites and plug them into Netflix. I also don't care what others are watching. It's so wonderful to find out I AM NOT ALONE!!
I emailed NF as soon as they did away with the releasing this week tab.
The new release feature is totally useless to me. If you're a regular movie renter - and when paying a monthly subscription you'd be a fool not to be - I don't see how their New Releases page is of any use at all. And that "most popular this week a year ago" or whatever it is? Who the heck cares about that? May as well throw some other random heading up there, like "most popular rentals from three and a half years ago" or "movies that only a few people watched and hardly anybody liked".
Please, please, bring back my nice, simple "Releasing This Week" tab. I can certainly understand NF's rationale, as all the savvy site users place the New Releases at the top of their queue. But c'mon, the new substitute is soooo lame ... it shows OLD releases. WTF? The number of new releases per week is too large to put into an RSS feed. I insist that you retain the web page and keep it up-to-date. I also insist that you make it easier to find from the "new releases" page. Like many others here, I don't care what other people in my town are watching, or what the critics recommend, and certainly not what Netflix employees recommend!!! The web page is vastly more convenient.

I know why Netflix did it. You guys don't want people adding new release to the top of the queue every week. Well, you don't have to worry about that. My queues have over 100 discs on them, and new releases always go to the end of the queue. So all you've succeeded in doing is making it more difficult for me to use your service.

Whoever decided to obscure the "releasing this week" page should be demoted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2765056849626104020.post-4253932101633301662008-02-01T12:08:00.000-08:002008-02-01T12:08:00.000-08:002008-02-01T12:08:00.000-08:00Changing to BlockBuster is not an answer to losing...Changing to BlockBuster is not an answer to losing "RTW" especially if you love film. Blockbuster forcing studios to supply censored versions of films, and not even giving their customers a choice, means supporting BB is supporting censorship. That said, I built most of my queue with RTW and miss it, and I want Netflix to bring it back, the New Releases page is like going into a chain video store and seeing the same titles faced out on the wall for weeks.suttreehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03264432606005389666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2765056849626104020.post-27845563865574389842008-01-28T06:25:00.000-08:002008-01-28T06:25:00.000-08:002008-01-28T06:25:00.000-08:00Netflix! Even if there is some new logic in how Netflix goes about creating what is shown on the new page, deciding to replace a list view with big floating icons is the real kick in the teeth. There isn't even an option to switch to a list view. Does Netflix really expect me to click through icons 4 at a time to see the whole list? This seems like such an amateur kludge. It's really too bad, because I really liked Netflix.. the website is painful to use now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2765056849626104020.post-48328867219711666222008-01-24T11:46:00.000-08:002008-01-24T11:46:00.000-08:002008-01-24T11:46:00.000-08:00If it ain't broke don't fix it! Movies that are from 2006 is not a new release. Spiderman 3 is one I would considered to be a "new release". "The Game Plan" would be considered a New Release.

Netflix has been great although newer movies are getting longer and longer to get sent out. "War" has been out for a week or two now but it's still a "very long wait". Can you buy more copies of it? I end up having to go to a local hollywood to get it.

Whoever designed the new page probably don't care about what the public say because they work there and it's probably easier for them to queue up new movies.

Part of why I stay w/ netflix is the ease of renting movies. But this just defeats the purpose of ease. As it was said before, it usually takes 5 mins to browse what NF has available. Now, I have to go to another site, write it down and see if they even have it. Very counter productive.

How does this help the customer? This is one change that is actually a roadblock which hampers the efficiency that the previous page had.

You should fire the guy/s even thought of this page. It will cost you customers. I'm not sure how long I can stay on. BB doesn't seem to have any plan higher than 3-out. And if you want to trade them in-store (as anon claims to now do) you definitely do not get it cheaper than Netflix (BB wants $20 for 3-out+5 exchanges/mo).

Then there's the problem with the CS. Why call the CS to cancel your account with Netflix, when you can do it painfree and easily online? There's a link that says "Cancel Membership" under "Your Account", and it's quite simple to use.

And there's no way I can believe that Netflix would bill someone after their membership had been cancelled. So that story does not hold much water...
