  1. Sweet im all for the uncut subtitled stuff. Not a big fan of the dubs but its still nice to see more content

  2. How about delivery on your old promises before you start making new ones? -
Where are Frasier, Star Trek, Family Ties and The Wonder Years?
Do you start these new blog posts
in hopes that we will forget about what you promised in the last one?

  3. This is Great. I honestly have really been enjoying all the streaming anime content that is now available. I especially love Trigun and Robotech as well as Macross, FullMetal Alchemist, Gundam and Burst Angel. I hope you will continue to add content and I would even approve of direct from Japan anime with English subtitles. There are so many movies and series that I would love to see and I don't need them translated to enjoy them. :)

  4. I would like to ditto the comments on wanting the original Japanese w/ subtitles. The lack of it is the reason I do not watch any of the anime on my PS3. Sorely lacking I would say. And I would think not that difficult to implement.

  5. i have to agree with Anonymous here. i'm pretty sure all of those shows should be streaming by now and they most definitely are not. with broken promises, poor streaming quality (i know its my not my internet connection as i have a static ip 20mbps business internet from cox), movies and tv shows constantly expiring, a decent selection of newer movies but still not a whole lot, less and less movies/tv shows available in a timely fashion via disc by mail and netflix trying to move more towards streaming only i figured their streaming product would be better than this by now. i am considering dropping my netflix account all together.

  6. GREAT!!!

But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make anime available in it's original language... with subtitles.

    Thanks!!!

  7. I've been enjoying a random assortment: Last Exile, Sekirei, Queen's Blade, Street Fighter(s), Avatar, Robotech and Gurren Lagann.

I don't mind the dubs as it is hard for my friends with glasses to read the subs.

One request: High School of the Dead (pretty please). Keep streaming us the good stuff.

  8. Adding my voice to the "subtitled anime" request! I never watch dubs, and so I basically never watched any anime on Netflix. More subtitled anime will keep me as a subscriber much longer (currently running out of content to watch very soon).

  9. Great to see more high quality content. I've added several of these to my queue already and watched a few complete series. Sekirei was very enjoyable, but it certainly won't appeal to everyone.

I wish Netflix would add more low-cost, long-tail content as they fight with the Super Evil studio content cabals for the low-quality (i.e. poorly written) mass market content.

I'd love to see some more high quality independent documentaries too.

In the long-run, I hope Netflix can say "You can stream any movie ever made in 1080p (or better) at any time you want."

I wish there was a web page (like there used to be) to request the addition of specific new content. How can Netflix know someone wants to watch it, if it's not even listed in the Netflix catalog?

  10. Canadian customer here.

Please allow us the ability to watch all anime titles with their original audio and with English subtitles. I do not watch dubbed anime, and as such, I have not watched the anime titles availble on Netflix, even though the selection piques my interest. I would imagine I am not alone on this matter.

If Netflix were to make it a point to allow original audio and subtitles for their anime titles, they would have a major advantage in the anime market as no other company is really doing that presently. I know Netflix has the capability for this to work. It's just a matter of grabbing a great opportunity.

  11. This is EXCELLENT... only issue i have is to get an INSTANT VIEW App for ANDROID!

I hate apple products and caught myself having "apple envy" when a friend and I went on a trip and we were able to watch netflix streaming while driving to Orlando! Why is apple able to only enjoy this "streaming anywhere" goodness?

I have an HP/Palm as well, but understand that the # of handsets may not make it feasible to have a netflix app... but Android penetration is beating out Apple and still no Android App? C'mon!!!!

  12. sweet, you should totally make parts 3 & 4 of full metal alchemist: brotherhood availible on the instant queue, i never got to finish parts 1 & 2 until they finally became instant, now im waiting for part 3 to come in the mail, but i fear ill have to wait another month for a turn w/ said dvd

  13. Thanks... this would have been great news if you were to provide the English language versions either instead of or in addition to the Japanese versions. I've already READ all of these anime series. In fact, the English version of InuYasha, for example, is better than the Japanese version (and that includes the music). So, thanks... for [next to] nothing. :D

  14. I just have one problem with this. And I really don't mean to be a complainer here I really admire Netflix and I will probably be a life fan of this company. But all I have to say is that you should offer additional languages for animes (or perhaps even going as far as other shows or movies as well). I know the hardcore anime fans like the original Japanese versions with subtitles but there are a lot of us who don't. I love that Full Metal Alchemist and Trigun are both in English (thank you!) but why is Inuyasha only offered in Japanese? Have you considered adding a button or switch of some sort with the option of japanese or english?

Just a thought. And again, please don't take this as an attack against you guys.

  15. why only 2 steamy romance selections available for instant viewing when genre has more than 100 selections?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm happy to see the anime section added to my xbox's netflix, but really unhappy that the Sci-Fi section was removed to make room for this.

The sci-fi section was one of my faves. Why remove it? I'd sooner see the children's section, indie, or foreign section removed. I want my sci-fi back...LOL.

  17. Add this film to your site:
    Meet the Applegates
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100129/

    Great film from 1991.

  18. For those complaining about the CBS shows, that blog post stated they would start appearing "Beginning in early April". Considering it's April 4th, it's a little early to be complaining about them being late.

I'm psyched about subbed anime as I hadn't really cared for most of the dubbed anime I've watched.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Really thrilled at the new Anime Offerings, Been loving FMA(Both series) and the fact that more and more are on streaming is great.

The addition of Bleach and Inuyasha likewise is great(missed huge parts of those series. However I'd like to add my voice for a dubbed version too, its just so much easier to introduce a friend to a series when not forced to read subtitles and watch at the same time.

  20. As far as I can see Bleach and Naruto are not available in Canada.
So I would think that this is a message for US only?
    If so:
    1. Thanks for nothing
    2. Would you be so kind and at least note somewhere what region these "news" apply to?
I was really waiting for Bleach and Naruto...

    ReplyDelete
  21. How come you're putting more anime on instant netflix but not common shows like NCIS, the simpsons, or how i met your mother. These are shows i want to watch thats why i got netflix, not anime. Make more classic shows instant before making anime shows instant.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I notice Naruto and Bleach are in Japanese now. Great! I trust you're working to add that to your other titles and back catalog too, right? I've seen subtitles on many netflix streaming shows now, so you have that capability, and extra language tracks can't be that hard.

English dubs of anime are basically unwatchable, so if you want to move anime-watching customers away from DVDs into your streaming business, you're going to have to start providing Japanese language tracks.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why don't you also let us watch it in english dub?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree that in the blog there should be some differentiation between Canada and the US. I was PUMPED to read that Inuyasha would be offered now, but alas, it is not available for me so, I'm assuming this is an American announcement.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm very happy with more anime,
i prefer DUB english anime, Add even more keep up the good work.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Can we get subbed versions on the anime already offered, too? Very disappointing to see a great title, but realize it's dubbed. Netflix doesn't dub its other foreign films, why anime?? Just like bad live action dubs, they're plagued by awkward dialogue, affected acting, distracting mouth movements. As far as i'm concerned, netflix's anime library is only as long as its list of subtitled offerings.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There is definitely some confusion about the language tracks for your anime content. For instance, I've wanted to watch Inuyasha for awhile, but I never did because I assumed (like most) it was the English track. Now I'm reading in the comments here that it is in fact available with the Japanese audio track. Which is great, but is there any way to tell except to start playing it and wait for the first words to be spoken (which can be a few minutes!)? Either way, more anime is good!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bring more dubbed anime reading and watching dont go well together many people like to understand what there saying instead of reading it like some animes like naruto for the kids that dont read as fast thank you

    ReplyDelete
  29. I usually prefer original language too when it's available, but whatever. So glad to log in today and find that I could add like a dozen new items to my queue. Thanks Netflix!

    ReplyDelete
  30. It would be nice if you added movies that I actually wanted to watch. The combination of no good movies to watch and a crappy instant-movie search/suggestions feature is just begging me to cancel my subscription and deal with the inconvenience of going to Blockbuster.

  31. my gf wants sailor moon and i want it so she stops bitching help me out netflix

  32. I love the British TV series. We just watched the first two series of "Wish me luck" about British spies in France during WWII. I get a lump in my throat when each episode starts. and can hardly breath until the end of the program.

My problem is that I leaned on the internet that there were THREE series, but Netflix only has TWO.
    PLEASE get the third series.

We have grown very attached to those brave, wonderful characters.

The series is so skillfully writen. The characters and situations are so believable and thrilling that we really want the last one. Thank you. Couldn't find anywhere else to let you know. Thank you. Cindi

  34. I would like to request that Dragon Ball series be uploading to Netflix Streaming in English.

    ReplyDelete
  35. just checked out the eng subtitled naruto series. So far there's 2 seasons up but it appears that they're is atleast 50 episodes missing between season 1 and season 2. is this problem gonna be fixed anytime soon? thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Please upload anime produced by Toei Animation. They make the top of the line anime.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think that HBO should start putting their shows on here. I got rid of my movie channels cause they were too expensive, but it would be AWESOME to get my True Blood fix on here! I love Netflix and I am constantly spreading the word about it. I hope it happens soon!

    ReplyDelete
  38. NetFlix already has toooooooooo much animation and kiddy crap - stuff I can see on my television is not worth paying for on NetFlix. 8 dollars a month and I have already run out of content after a few month and find myself searching for about two good movies a month(4 dollars per movie?). If I upgradeto 10, I still get nothing new streamed direct, which is completely terrible business practice. If I want DVDs I purchase them for 10 bucks, not have them mailed 1 at a time :(

    ReplyDelete
  39. Your last Volume of Bleach currently available is 32. I do not do sub-titles (I don't watch TV to 'read'). My concern is that Netflix will not continue adding to their DVD collection English versions of great Anime titles such as Bleach. I agree with many others; we want access to the the English versions either by DVD and/or streaming!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I prefer the anime subbed, that way at least friends viewing with me can read it. I'm a native Japanese speaker, and when they are dubbed, and even subbed, it's mostly inaccurate as to what is being said.. though it does give me a laugh sometimes when the situation in the anime itself isn't funny at all. XD

    ReplyDelete
  41. I was going to get rid of my account, but with amount of new anime I’m seeing on here I'm keeping it - Great job Netflix!!!! This is going to bring in business + indirectly support Japan!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree with what TJ said in an earlier post, “I hope you will continue to add content and I would even approve of direct from Japan anime with English subtitles. There are so many movies and series that I would love to see and I don't need them translated to enjoy them.” At lot of us know how to read and we don’t mind the subs.

    ReplyDelete
  43. When will the sequel seasons of several of these series be available?

Sekirei Pure Engagement is not yet available.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I agree with whoever said it before but why can't you make it so that we can choose what language we watch the anime in? I love watching anime but when its subs it is the only thing you can focus on. If we get distracted for just a minute we can miss something very important. Its not like we speak Japanese and can just listen to it. Please give us a choice for the languages.

  45. Hello,
I would like to ask a question about the CBS lineup that is coming to watch instantly in April. Any idea when the Star Trek original series will be added to WI?
    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  46. so any chance you can make it available to Canada anytime soon?

    ReplyDelete
  47. ummm yeah whats the point of putting up all the subtitled stuff? for that i could just watch it on the internet... im not in japan im in america... english dubs please!

    ReplyDelete
  48. when i first saw all the new anime it excited me but once i hit play nothing but disapointment washed over me. I can watch streaming sub anime all day for free but not dub. I speak english and want to watch shows in english. I am seriously thinking of shutting down my account now if your service does not improve and you continue to do retarded crap

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hope the Anime is dubbed because If I wanted to watch subtitled anime I would use hulu. I really hope its dubbed.

    ReplyDelete
  50. would be cool if you could watch them dubbed or in japanese. That way every one would be happy.

  51. This has nothing to do with this particular blog entry but I was looking for a way to send the Netflix web design people an "at a boy"

I just reported a problem with a DVD and happened to notice that the page was using HTML LABEL tags on the radio buttons and checkboxes.

This means that you can click the text of a button or box to select the button instead of only the button or box itself.

Windows, and I believe MAC, works that way - you can select a radio button or a checkbox by clicking the button/box OR the text for the button or box.

Originally, HTML had no way to implement this but then along came the LABEL tag.

Most people who create web pages are not even aware that the LABEL tag exists or know what it does.

If you want more info, go Google HTML LABEL TAG

To the web people at Netflix - "way to go"

Using LABEL makes things easier on web pages.

  52. thank you netflix from bringing more anime to your service.i truly apreciate this.thank you!

  53. These people run a scam! They kept deducting charges from my debit card when they CLEARLY should not have been doing so which messed up my account really bad and hit with bank charges that they are responsible for! BEWARE AND BE CAREFUL GIVING THESE PEOPLE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT CARD INFORMATION!!!!!!! THEY WILL CHARGE IT ANYTIME THEY WANT AND THEN TRY TO JUSTIFY THESE STUPID CHARGES!!! THIS "SERVICE' IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Dub these anime shows as well please cause I am not reading the subtitles to watch them.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Good for anime buffs, unfortunately that's not me. I'm still wondering how Jurassic Park is just NOW available on DVD?! Also, how can you stream Aliens (part 2) and not Alien or Alien 3? Lord of the Rings: Fellowship = check. 2 Towers, Return of the King = NOPE. I wonder how the Notflix selection would look if I went through and removed all the crap I will never be interested in...NOT GOOD that's for sure. If you stream a part of a series, of course we will want the rest. Duh...give me that over anime, House of Farts, Glee....its not like your listening anyways...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Please please please offer subtitled/Japanese dialogue versions of anime for streaming!

I despise the dubs and won't watch any through streaming because there is no option to hear it in Japanese with English subtitles.

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I appreciate all the anime you have added recently. It would be nice if there was a language option for the anime so you could watch it with an english dub or the original japanese.

Some times I like to watch the japanese version with subtitles but other times I would prefer to watch the english version, especially if it is with friends on the 360. If you could support both options that would be appreciated and I am sure that many others would like those options.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I wonder if the movie "Astérix & Obélix Take On Caesar" will be part of your inventory one of these days... I would like to watch that one. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Could we get "Bill Nye the Science Guy"???

    ReplyDelete
  60. If you guys add undubbed, subtitled anime I will praise your name across the land. Or at least an option to enable that. I don't really watch dubbed anime.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It would really be nice if you would add more sci-fi and deadly disaster genre, there is not many on Netflix.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I personally think this ANIME stuff is crap and one step away from kiddy pxxx.
Please add a filter to netflix that allows you to remove the entire Anime category so my family doesn't have to see some fat perv's wet dream on my TV.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think Instead of publishing series and not finishing them you should just finish them because it's frustrating moving on to new ones because it didn't finish for example.

Fruits basket And School Rumble :(

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm happy about the added anime, but being a mom to elementary & middle school aged children, I'm NOT happy about seeing the anime titles popping up as the newest additions in Netflix (there are others that fit into my 'not happy' category too, incidentally). Many of the anime movie images that are coming up are pretty risque.

My 11-year old son saw the cover for "Sekirei: The Complete Series" this morning and turned beet red. For those that have an issue with MY issue, tough. We're trying to have a family environment here, at least when the kids are awake!

Is there ANY way to block certain movies from appearing unless you specifically search for them? A filter by type, by rating, by anything, would be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  65. WHERES WONDER YEARS? Either admit you made a mistake and meant "Golden Years" or give us a date. This is absolutely ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I agree with the idea mentioned above about making anime available in both a subbed version and a dubbed version for streaming. There are obviously a lot of people on here that prefer the subtitled versions but I am not one of them. I prefer watching the dubbed as I feel more drawn into the story when I don't have to read, too. I'm also all for seeing shows like How I met your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Chuck, House, etc made available for instant streaming but understand that for mainstream TV shows like these to make it onto Netflix, it may be a while. Please just add what you can as fast as you can. Also, I would love to see some kind of favorites section added to the site for things that I may have already watched in the instant cue but want to have quick access to for later viewing. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  67. I watch all kinds of streaming anime on netflix - was so excited to see bleach (although I've already seen up to 198 where adult swim is now), and was excited that I could finally watch naruto and inuyasha - I was never able to watch inuyasha on hulu because it was in JAPANESE - give me the dub! So I play episode 1 of inuyasha on netflix streaming and guess what? It is in JAPANESE!! To each his own but I simply cannot watch anime in japanese - Give me the ENGLISH DUB. Luckily funimation's selection on netflix is vast and in ENGLISH!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. THANK YOU! I just tried to watch some anime today, and was irritated that it was all dubbed in English. This might be fine for little kids, but it's excruciating to watch for us aficionados.

Thank you for helping out with this situation, I'll hold tight until more subtitled offerings are available. I was actually looking to lodge a complaint when I found this blog...so good timing!;)

    ReplyDelete
  69. To add to the voice others have mentioned. Subtitles and original japanese voices would be great for all anime. I would be more apt to watch them if they were so.

Also, I haven't seen startrek and the other shows mentioned yet.

    ReplyDelete
  70. As someone who cannot stand the sound of anime in English and will only watch Japanese with subs... I have to say that Netflix seriously, seriously needs to add the Japanese audio/English subs option to all their anime. There is so much on Netflix I'd love to watch, but I hate dubs and thus can't watch anime on instant play.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Our family has no interest in Anime and would like to see some way to delete Anime from our searches. Don't need to browse through all the Anime. However, we very much enjoy Korean and Japanese TV Dramas and films. We find that Netflix rarely adds new selections to these genres & the selections you do offer are limited. So much more good Korean TV & film out there & most of what you offer is horror. More Korean Romantic Comedy & Drama would be nice.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Whatever. You guys can EASILY code a button that would allow you to switch languages and subtitles on the fly. You should really stop being so lazy and do this already. It's been 5 years and you are JUST NOW integrating CC into the damn instant watch. Come on already. Your video monkeys have to encode the disk twice, big deal. Get it done.
I really hope you do this ASAP or someone else does it and puts you guys out of business for staying outdated idiots.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Please start showing anime and foreign movies with the option of original language with subtitles. I really want to watch some but the english dubbing completely ruins it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Are Netflix ever going to consider music concert videos?

    ReplyDelete
  75. please netflix bring on Queen's Blade season 2 Part 1 by media blaster's

also, make deals with bandai because they have an anime catalog as well.thanks

  76. i just want to say, that i have had netflix for two weeks, and it fuckin sux!!!!!!!!!!!! you pay 8 bucks a month for shitty ass never seen before movies that no one gives a shit about. if you try to watch even a remotely good movie it has to be delivered via mail!!! FUCK YOU NETFLIXS!!!! I'm gonna take my free month and watch ass much ass i can on your dime you peaces of shit!!! then cancel!!! HA

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'll tell ya what i think!!!! FUCK YOU AND YOUR SHITTY SERVICE!!!!!! all your streaming sux dick!!!!!! never a clear pic. even when i fine a half ass shitty movie to watch. all your free movies sux dick just like the creater of this shit hole setup!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thats great but I have half of excel saga and parts of three others in my saved queue. and I rented both vampire hunter d movies from you when you first start and now they aren't available? what gives?

    ReplyDelete
  79. i think they need to have to uncut english dubbed episodes also

    ReplyDelete
  80. I love the dub anime i don't like the subs because then there's a lot of reading. and you should add more love romances in anime selection and more funny feel good anime's. I loved Clannad and Kaze No Stigma and Shuffle! Also school rumble but you should add more anime shows. And when will Clannad After Story be available for instant Streaming? Oh I also loved Orphen and Orphen Revenge. Ahh I love anime along with many others. Add more to the anime selection instantly streaming, please.

    ReplyDelete
  81. It's really awesome that you are adding more animes with original soundtrack and subtitles! I can't stand the dubbing either, it never works very well...

I really wish that you would add the option to select a soundtrack and subtitles to your streaming video, it would REALLY help a lot. I speak French and I hate watching a French movie with the ENG subtitles on, I would love to be able to remove them... I think I'm not the only one with this problem. Please make it more customizable!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thanks for these! Keep em coming english dub is fine

    ReplyDelete
  83. Could we please have them in English dub it makes things a lot easier for people that are not accustomed to the anime experience.

  84. just curious if your company knows they are peddling essentially child porn by allowing the viewing of an anime shown by Funimation known as "Strike Witches"
it contains several adult situations and points of underage nudity throughout the series.
The characters range from 12 years of age (as stated by characters themselves) to 19 years old.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Strike_Witches_characters

nice going both netflix and Funimation! lets push them laws aside!

  85. add some more of the bleach episodes if u can. and try to find the other seasons to d.grayman its still missing 2 seasons i think

    ReplyDelete
  86. I wanted bleach and more eng dub but you put sub eng. you can not watch them on your ipod. you have ruined the experience. now my kids are back to searching the internet to find it. I prefer to supervise where they are watching their shows from but again I can't. Try to think of devices too.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Can you add more TRAVEL CHANNEL shows such as Samantha Brown's stuff? Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. What the hell this is wonderful news! But please make it the English dub! I'm a casual anime fan and this shit is for the hardcore audience. I love all the amines you added inuyasha, naruto, bleach, shin chan, and full metal alchemist. But only 2 are in english. Idk why you would add a Japanese dub with English subtitles to a mostly American service. Come on Netflix simple mistakes like this make me want to cancel my subscription more and more each day.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Awesome! Love that there's a bigger selection here now, but I agreee with the others requesting Japanese w/subtitles...
Also, what I would REALLY like to see is more Classic Disney Films on your instant queue. I couldn't believe that I was unable to sit my niece down and have her watch Snow White, or even the Little Mermaid. C'mon... I don't want to send away for a DvD "just in case she shows up". I'd like the option to just turn it on and watch some nostalgic movies with her... /endrant

I mean if we r going to have these shows in America plz just contact funimation and get the English versions. But thank u for trying.

  92. This is wonderful news!

Please continue to add more original Japanese language audio, English-subbed anime.

I can't stand watching the dubbed versions of even my favorite anime! (Honestly, there is one exception - the original US release of Nausicaä a.k.a Warriors of the Wind.)

But 99% of the time I can't watch the English-dubbed versions of any foreign film - it's distracting and really mars the original actor's performance.

It would also be wonderful if you could add Japanese language + English subs to your existing Anime collection.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I love your english dubbed anime. If it's subbed then you have to do a lot of reading. I just wish you had a wider selection of anime i mean i love the selection now but you should add Air TV, Air Gear, Card captor Sakura, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, And Whisper of the heart to instant streaming. Please it's easier to watch it instantly. But i love the anime just add more to it. Also Mohoromatic, and naruto but the english dubbed version. Thank you very much. Have nice day.

  94. Netflix = booger eatersApril 7, 2011 at 4:54 PM

Where is my "IMPROVED STREAMING FUNCTIONALITY"?????????? Hmmmmmm?????? You know, you removed the useful feature "ADD DVD TO QUEUE" from streaming devices and claimed it was using up valuable resources. However, since its removal I have noticed exactly ZERO change in the "functionality". Just be honest and admit you were trying to begin weaning us off dvd's. Never gonna happen. I am not going to forget this. I once was a loyal Blockbuster customer. Stop going down this path of shady and deceptive moves or I will someday say the same thing about you. That's a promise.

  95. Another Canadian here. I love the idea of Netflix, I really do, but the absolutely CRAPPY content offered on the Canadian site is pathetic.

And as someone else mentioned, why are you showing part X of a series of movies - or seasons of TV shows - but not the rest. We can get seasons 3, 4, 5 of Waking the Dead but not S1. O_o

I realize that it takes time to get licensing in Canada, but COME ON! There's hardly any CANADIAN content here! Not that I love Canadian shows, but you'd think it would be fairly easy to get licensing for showing Canadian shows IN CANADA. Something better than the repulsiveness that is The Trailer Park Boys.

And why is it that on the Canadian site, we're lucky to MAYBE get one new movie added a week to the "new" releases? And they're certainly not NEW, they're old horrible movies that I've yet to get desperate enough to waste time on.

So far, for the month I've been a member, I've watched maybe three movies and watched some Monk and 21 Jump Street but have been pretty much sticking to the science documentaries (which DESPERATELY need an update). I renewed for another month, just to give Netflix a real chance, but if this continues to be what I can expect, I will most definitely be canceling my subscription at the end of the month.

  98. So, I think it's great that you added more subbed anime, but it seems silly to have the more children friendly animes (naruto, inu-yasha) as the ones that are w/ subs while more adult ones, like read or die, are subbed. I agree that it would be best to have both options available for everything, but if your coding isn't ready for that, maybe content could dictate whether the show has subtitles or is dubbed.

Also, you guys removed the instant activity from my homepage. Since I mostly use my instant watch to watch tv shows, it was really convenient to have what I've been watching right there at the top of the page that shows up when I visit netflix. Why was this removed? It took up almost no space and saved me a lot of effort. It was the area of "watch instantly" that I most frequently used. Please bring this back.

  101. Lisa was talking to all eight of you....WTF????? I read today Netflix may be losing more Showtime content.

    Dear Netflix,

Instead of spending $100 million on a political crap show, take that money and find every HBO, Showtime, and any other content provider President, VP, any C level person, buy them every meal, drink and hot ass hooker you can find until you seal the frikcin' deal...

Gene Autry...WTF, if you like this guy, you'll love Netflix....

  103. I really really really REALLY wish you guys would put the English dubbed versions of the anime up too and allow people to choose their preference because I personally would like InuYasha in English. Bleach as well because I'm trying to get into that show for the first time, and I think I could focus more on the action on the screen if I wasn't reading subtitles all the time. I'd just like the option to choose which language I wanted to watch it in!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I would love to be able to stream the dubbed version of One Piece. It is the only anime series I enjoy. This is all I ask of you netflix!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Thank you for the expanded selection. To the detractors here, you really sound like whiny babies. Cry more.

    ReplyDelete
  106. i 100% agree with this comment, offer both! thanks

"Have you considered adding a button or switch of some sort with the option of Japanese or English?"

    ReplyDelete
  107. Yeah this is great news netflix thanks a ton. However I do have one problem with it and its not that fact that these animes are in japanese, I would prefer them in english but ill live. The problem I have is the technically false advertisement of these animes. All the words in the credits are in english one, two and the major false for me is that except on naruto, you have put the english voice actors names therefore kind of stating that the anime is spoken in english when in fact you should be listing the japanese voice actors who are actually speaking!!!!!

Just keep up the already great work you all are doing. And yes it takes some time and it doesnt happen directly;)

  110. I agree with most post by Canadian users your content is lacking. I don't get why you bother posting unavailable content in our options. There is nothing that bugs me more then seeing content on a service that I am paying for that I can not view.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Could you at least make an attempt to differentiate your news between American and Canadian customers? It's disingenuous to tell us you have new programming for your customer base when you really only mean American.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Well since you have strengthened your partnership with Viz Media.... How about Adding Death Note to the Anime Stream?

    ReplyDelete
  114. why add subbed anime but not add english dubbed anime when english dubbed versions exist

    ReplyDelete
  115. My wife and I are super excited to be able to watch Inuyasha with the orginal japanese. This was a great acquisition for netflix!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Nice that Netflix continues to add content, but what if anything can customers do about AT&T's broadband cap? The cap is likely to contrain avid Netflix customers. What advise can Netflix provide?

    ReplyDelete
  117. i enjoy these seasons. but there should be a choice between dubbed and subbed. i multi task alot so its kinda hard to read and listen for me.....im sure others have this problem...i am grateful for the new content tho...and i kno there is constent badgering by fans for anime that is subbed...but i do prefer dubbed.. some might say im not a true fan then but ohh well...I try not to badger on tho lol.....but other wise im pleased with netflix....thanks for hearing me out!.....

    ReplyDelete
  118. hey Netflix, just fucking kill Blockbuster already. Put them out of fucking business, seriously. Please, thank you. Have a nice day :)

    ReplyDelete
  119. While there may be millions of Anime, I'm not one of them. To add a bunch of old anime series to your Instant watch service as New Movies is a travesty of Customer Relatons. Same for a bunch of 70 year old WWII movies. I like watching them some times but seriously...
It seems every time I look for a movie to watch all I get is upgrade and get the DVD. If I wanted to watch the DVD I'd buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I agree with everyone else on needing the option of original
    language with subtitles on anime.

It's great they are adding more anime titles to instant streaming but I refuse to watch most of it due to not being in it's original language.

Anime is the main reason why I have been a paying Netflix customer since 2005. Honestly though if they don't give the option of original language/subtitles on all of the anime on instant streaming I may be canceling my account in the near future.

I'll put my money into purchasing DVD's instead.

    ReplyDelete
  121. There should be a subbed and dubbed anime section so I don't waste my time loading the english dubbed crap.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Thanks for all the anime, especially the ones in Japanese.
I agree with what some other people have said, an option to switch between languages would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I do have a few ideas for anime like code geass or shugo chara or H2O footprints in the sand or air or full moon i love anime that lol but thnx netflix i love the anime section :D

    ReplyDelete
  124. Great. More crap. Now we have more garbage to wade through to find the gems....

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm on the side that's happy there's finally anime in japanese with subtitles! I feel like I've been waiting forever as I enviously look at all the new anime that's being added... I add them to my queue but then can't stand to listen to the English Dubs half the time. Most of the anime fans and friends I have feel the same way. I don't mind having the English around, especially when there are a handful I do like and then I can watch them with my dad (ie someone who is not willing to read subs), but I've always wanted the option.

I am sorry to hear the complains for those in the Dub corner, but I've felt the same way when the original audio wasn't available. Perhaps netflix can work it out to be a choice? I assume that might have to be worked out with the companies licensed from but it doesn't seem like it would be impossible to do. I will continue hoping and in the meantime and enjoy the new anime. :)

    ReplyDelete
  126. I love what you are doing with the content that contains several seasons under one page but I believe that a continuous view option would really amplify the experience. Not only will you not have to go searching for following seasons to keep your ocular pleasures maintained but you could continue to view uninterupted without having to click that pesky "next episode" button when Ive already predetermined that Im going to watch several episodes if not a whole season in one sitting...

    ReplyDelete
  127. I have a son that loves anime but everything is in Japanese...is there going to be any English Bleach naruto ect.

    ReplyDelete
  128. This may not be the appropriate place to post, but I couldn't find a "suggestion box." I would love to be able to block all children's programming from my "suggestions" I get really tired of having to scroll through a bunch of Barney or SpongeBob shows/movies to see what is available for adults. Is there a way to do that?

    ReplyDelete
  129. Im glad your increasing your anime, but i have been waiting for two years on some titles that have been in my list as saves. Almost everyone of them has been out and they are still saved. Are you ever going to get these or is it a lost cause

    ReplyDelete
  130. I’m really excited that you put InuYasha on instant download. However, it is extremely annoying that it is in Japanese with subtitles. The Cartoon network/Adult Swim use to play it in English and the voices really seemed to fit with the characters. This InuYasha with the original Japanese voices just seems wrong. The voices help make it more interesting. Is there any way that you guys could get the English version of InuYasha on instant download?

    ReplyDelete
  131. I have been watching anime for since I was 6 and I am 25 now, and honestly I am lazy and I don't want to read while I watch TV,isn't that the beauty of TV..not having to think while watching TV(vegging out)? I either miss what is going on, on the screen because of reading the subtitles, or I miss part of the subtitle because I am watching what is happening on the screen, plus I do have kids who love anime, and they have an even harder time watching it, not to sound snippy, but you should carry both, and let the viewer decide what they want to watch. Don't you advertise that any thing that is on DVD is you have....well they have these animes in both languages.

    Food for thought

    ReplyDelete
  132. I was just trying to watch some of the streaming anime and holy crap is the dubbing awful. You guys are going to go back and add subs to the old stuff, right? Because it's utterly unwatchable as-is.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Dear Netflix:
Please try to understand the community. You will not get fans of anime to subscribe to your service until you offer the anime in the original language with quality subtitles. Have you been listening to these comments yet?
    That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  134. This is great. Maybe an option to switch English to Japanese and vice versa. I prefer most Anime in English dubs but I realize most prefer the other way around. An option would be a simple fix so people can watch it how they like. You guys provide a great service regardless. Thanks a bunch.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I agree that it would be wonderful if the option to watch the anime in its original language (Japanese) with subtitles was available. I would love to watch some of the recently uploaded series, but I can't stand most of the English dubbed versions. Please consider making viewing these in Japanese wih English subtitles an option!!!!

  136. great!! just interested in anime that i watched as a kid in the 70's. Stuff that was for kids, like: Candy Candy. that was everyone's favorite show back in the day.

  137. I am a huge fan of anime and was sooooo stoked to see Bleach, Inuyasha, Naruto come on instant! I was not excited, however, to find out that each series is only available in Japanese. It's cool to have that available, but why can't we have the dubbed versions on here too? I honestly am not interested in watching any of these if they are not in English. Please put the English audio tracks on instant too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. These are my favorite anime shows and I want to watch them soooo bad!! Please add the English track!

  141. The anime selection is lovely, and I am down for all the uncut subtitled anime, but I also very much enjoy dubs, and am used to dubs in certain shows, like Inuyasha and the such, plus my little brother has little appreciation for subs as he is lazy to read much. It's funny because for shows like Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) I have a greater preference for the Japanese audio, but it is an unavailable option and it causes me to not want to watch it. If possible, like you have done with other movies and titles, could you make it so people can choose their preference of how they wish to enjoy there anime/show? As we all know it is impossible to please everyone, but giving options certainly does help. Please and thank you a loyal Netflix subscriber.

  152. Love the expanded anime content. I expect that reps from Netflix will read this so can I offer a suggestion. I would pay more for my monthly subscription if your added games to your selections. I saw that Blockbuster is trying to regain market share by offering vidoes and games via mail. I would love it if Netflix would add games to their website.

I'm a new customer to netflix and am sorely dissapointed in it. Thank goodness I'm not paying for it yet!! I thought I would be able to watch just about anything but unfortunately I must've been watching the American netflix commercials. There are only a few decent movies and hardly any decent kids movies. Many of the shows I watch (Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, How I Met your Mother)are unavailable. It is really dissapointing and I'm unsure if I will continue my netflix before my 30 day trial runs out.

    ReplyDelete
  155. You should think about putting the episodes in english it really ruins the experience not watching it english when that was what you first experience the anime in and became a fan. you could broaden your client base if you would put both japanese and english versions of the animes we fans love. with how much money you guys make it wouldn't be that hard to figure something out

    ReplyDelete
  156. I really wish you guys had InuYasha in english. It's really annoying watching it in japanese. It's just not the same after watching it for years on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. :(

  161. Another request for Japanese language with English subtitles for all of the anime. You have gathered up some great series (Trigun, Baccano, etc.) but I think my ears may bleed if I try watching them with English dubs.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I was so excited when I saw that Bleach and a few other animes were now able to be streamed, but when I played them I was very disappointed that they were subbed. Maybe I'm just lazy but I love dubbed versions better because I DON'T HAVE TO READ. That is why we watch TV in the first place. PLEASE add the dubs.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Another vote for more subtitled anime! Can't watch the English dubs.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Most of the anime on Netflix streaming is unwatchable for me because of the ridiculous dubbing. When will we have the option to choose different language channels w/subtitles for anime?

    ReplyDelete
  165. I used to watch Naruto when i was younger, and i was very happy to see more shows from when i was younger, but was wondering why you cant change the language filter between hearing english and english subtitles, because i sometimes still like it dubbed english -_- ty.

  170. I am a huge fan of anime personally. Bleach is one of my favorites of all time. However, after I started to watch the first season on netflix, I was extremely disappointed to find that I had to read subtitles because it was NOT IN ENGLISH. Naruto-same thing. I dislike knowing that I've watched the same episodes in english on television, but cannot do so on netflix.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I hate to read and therefore hate subtitles. I speak fluent english and I have an english Netflix account. If you're going to make shows like Bleach, Naruto and Inuyasha available for streaming go ahead and get the dubbed versions of all of them.

If they don't want dubs then they want subs. Just watch what is provided and be grateful. If you want it in the original language or vice versa then do what every other anime fan does buy the DVDs and stop complaining. Sheesh. On another note from one anime fan who is truly grateful for ANY anime (be it subtitled or dubbed) Thank you for updating the list.

  192. Can I please just say Thank you Netflix!!!!! I am very excited to see more anime on Netflix. I also was just looking through my instant queue and again I cannot Thank you enough for putting all the seasons of television shows as one group, it has freed up a lot of space in my queue and so that deserves a Big
    Thank you!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  193. I generally prefer subtitles to dubbing, but there are exceptions. E.G. Dragonball Z's Goku sounds better to me. My take: its great that there are subtitles, and I will generally use them, but not everyone likes them, so given either, I'd prefer subtitles, but if possible, provide both. Of course, you're never going to see the Lum series dubbed, so that one is moot anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  194. Why did you make it so that our ratings apply to every season of a television show???? That is so stupid. Some seasons are five star seasons and some are two star seasons! Go back to letting us rate individual seasons in a series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  195. Bring Code Geass here it deserves to be on Netflix please brg it here

    ReplyDelete
  196. This is nice but instead of the english dubs I would much prefer the japanese subtitles. It has such better voice acting over the english dubs.

9/10 of the comments are on this exact subject.

Subtitles with the original language, please.
