Lost is amazing! We've kept up with most of the seasons via dvd to avoid commercials and waiting for the next episode- but now we'll soon have all 5 season's available on demand! WooHoo! Hope to see more popular TV series and new released movies! Thanks!
Nobody gives a shit about this. What YOUR customers are demanding is support for the Netflix streaming video player on GNU/Linux. There are millions of potential customers you ignoring and some of us take offence to that. I for one will never subscribe to any Netflix service until the GNU/Linux support situation improves.
Hopefully those of us using Linux will be able to watch them soon, too.

Always pleased to hear advances in streaming deals! The addition of Lost is fantastic. As for the others... I hope to see the initial seasons of Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy crop up, too.
As a Linux user, I'd love to see support for that, too, but this sort of announcement sounds independent of those workings! Netflix continues to build my confidence in them, so I'll continue to hope that some sort of Linux alternative is in the works. That said, I'm happy I can watch it on my XBox 360 (especially with the recent enhancements!)

Umm, I already watched season 5 of Lost at its network site. I watched all of the seasons there, and I believe they are still available. On a very nice player, that always works, and with very minimal commercial breaks (30 sec. max).
Actually, in the Fall, I'll be watching Lost season 6 at the same site, within 24 hours of the original air date.
For Free, of course.
I don't watch the other shows, but I know that some (and probably all) of them are also available now, at their network's site.

Episode 2 of Lost Season 4 only plays one audio track. Lots of people are having this issue. Please fix it!
I am so happy that you finally got Lost. I never got a chance to watch Lost on TV and I was going to add the DVDs to my queue but it would have taken forever to watch and wait for the discs to arrive one at a time. Please get Season 2 and 3 of AVATAR The Last Airbender! I loved the first season and I want to see more.
Netflix. How about a list of instant movies that are going to become unavailable in the next month or so? That way, we could see which selections should get priority status.

I had been watching HD lost on abc, then netflix scooped it up.
So I have to watch the rest in cruddy quality on my pc, it looks so bad. The lack of HD and all the tearing of the picture in the pc player is nasty.
I still don't know why no hd on the pc yet, and why they don't fix the bad tearing the windows player introduced.
Does anyone know how to prevent the annoying pop up ads from Netflix. I get 0-5 per day. I will never do business with a company that does business in this manner.

Lost describes your service lately.
Had a functionality request that I wanted to pass along, and couldn't find a place to do this....
I think it'd be very helpful, when a user adds a DVD series to their queue to warn that viewer if they have later discs in the series slated to be sent to them before the first discs.
E.g. if I add Mad Men Season One to my queue, then bump that series up, current functionality makes it easy to accidentally move disc 4 ahead of disc 1, 2, or 3 in my queue. It'd be very nice to see Netflix warn me of this, so I don't end up being sent disc 4 before disc 1.
In regards to Lost on instant. I am upset to learn that only parts of at least season two are available. I find it questionable that anyone out to make things convenient for their customers would do such a thing as only offer 2/3 of a program. I enjoy this show long story short. I suggest you allow instant access to ALL of it.

I've been waiting exactly one month for Gran Turino BlueRay to become available. ONE MONTH! Hey Netflix, buy a couple of more discs for C's sake, it's a new release. There is no excuse, you're just pissing off customers! By the time I get your new releases, they are no longer new releases. What are we paying you for? Please bring back email support so your customers don't have to post in forums, boards and comment sections.

Now how about getting around to, oh, say, making the PC based streaming actually decent quality? The Silverlight player is abysmal! At least use a technology that people have already adopted and that has better video quality, such as Flash.

Hey Netflix, why are you deleting my movie reviews? All I said was the movie was made unwatchable as a result of all the tearing caused by Silverlight. You guys fucking suck ass.
Isaac, your issue is most likely caused by the number of people accessing the same files/movies as you. To test this out, try seeing if you have the same issue with another movie.
Will Netflix be adding more special interest DVD's such as sewing & crafting. There is another rental site that does but charges way to much to rent an instructional DVD for 1 week. They are charging anywhere from $9 to $20 per week. I'm sure you have customers with hobbies such as myself who would be interested in this genre. I've checked your special interest listed and there is nothing in the area of sewing or crafting.
Since Netflix is almost impossible to get a hold of electronically (other than calling), I'm posting this here.
The "movie privacy" page seems to be broken. Every movie rented by any profile on an account is visible to every profile on the account, via this page. This allows children to see what their parents rent (which some might not want). Just thought I'd mention it, in hopes of saving some parents an awkward conversation or two. Thanks for listening.

I wish Nflix would add browising categories for all dvds that you can watch on demand. The system right now is not very good for browsing for these films.

Those "episodes" for season 2 that are only available on dvd aren't actual episodes, those are bonus features on the 7th disc... so quit your whining and check before you complain.
For anyone wondering, Lost is in HD, so 2 bars on connection speed will still be dvd quality.
How can I use netflix on my PS3? I wish Netflix made PS3 a netflix ready device as well.
I recently encountered a problem with my netflix movie viewer. I called customer service and the representative told me that because of the error code there was nothing he could do. He gave me a phone number to some Windows company and sent me on my way.
After calling the number I was given and listening to the automated options (none of them being speak to a representative) I felt as if there was no solution to my problem.
I then went and did a google search and found the answer to my problem. Remove Silverlight then re-install it. Problem solved!
With that problem being solved, I am now facing a new issue. Why is it that the someone that has nothing to do with your company can assist me better than someone that you are paying to assist your customers? Good question? I think so!
Yes, you have a great selection of movies, both instant watching and on DVD. But if your customer service is not worth a dime, how is "Netflix still #1"?
I have had very few problems with your service, which means that when something as big as your customer service representatives not being able to completely assist your customers something must be said! Either the original representative should be able to provide an answer or they should be able to transfer you to someone who can; Not send you to a machine that can do nothing for your problem.
Also, why is it that I cant simply send an email to you? Who is to say that I want to speak with a customer service representative that will probably just sit comfortably in his chair and pull excuses out of his A**? I understand that having a live operator is something that a lot of companies should invest in, but so is an email address. Not everyone wants to actually speak to someone live, some people just want to be heard.

Here's an idea, how about instead of adding more shows that will just look like shit because of fucking silverlight, you do something to fix fucking silverlight. I mean, it's going on a fucking year now.
It's awesome to get more TV series on demand. There's always a lost list of requests- Will there ever be a customer request inbox? Also, My son just loves the Wiggles, but we're hoping to get more "Sprout" like programming- PBS kids stuff, etc.

Why the heck are people getting so upset about this? I can remember a time before VIDEO rental stores, before the internet and streaming movies and TV. The only chance one had for watching or rewatching TV episodes was to wait for summer reruns and hope the series went into syndication.

It would be really great to have a feature that would organize the queue by the number of stars that Netflix says they guess the account holder will rate the movies. That way we could always have our favorites up front and be able to make a couple of adjustments after that if needed.

Glad to hear it. Me and My mom watch Six Feet Under the entire five seasons this summer and really enjoyed it. I am thinking about getting her started on Lost since she has never seen it. We also so Season One of Damages but are still waiting for Season Two. Any word as to when that will be available. We would love to see it before next season

First, I am very glad to have streaming available via ROKU. It is a great invention, and indispensible, since we can only get one DVD/per week, and I appreciate The Netflix team's continuing work to get more things on streaming.
Second, "Lost" is ok, and I will probably watch some of it, but what happened to ALL THE CSI'S I HAD LINED UP IN MY STREAMING CUE?? Suddenly they diappeared, and are only available on DVD. Why do streaming selections suddenly become unavailable? Why are the best selections only available on disk?
I am sure it is because of the network's incomprehensible %#@&$$$$$ licensing Schtick, but it would be good to have some explanation of when and why this happens. At least some warning. Selections shouldn't just be YANKED from the que.
How about some discussion on this.
If I had a suggestion to make, (well, I have two)it would be to A. have all TV streaming. Not interested in DVD TV. In the mean time, Are we ever going to get the early seasons of TV programs on streaming? Will it ever be possible to get a full series on streaming? And I don't mean Maverick and Gunsmoke.
My second suggestion is to make streaming available in the search criteria. It is partly there, but not really.

I called customer service to find out more specifically when Lost Season 5 would be available to stream. They had no information to give me...in fact, they couldn't even say for sure whether it would be available in September. Ridiculous. When you make a promise, you need to follow through.

I know no one is probably going to see this but I have a suggestion for the player. I would really love it if you guys could do a pop out option like hulu does (so the video takes up the entire window). I have two monitors and can't make the video full screen and still use the other monitor because when I click on anything else it exits full screen.
Is there any word on Linux support? I'm a college student and I built a desktop on the cheap (>$300). I didn't want to spend an extra $100 for windows; instead, I installed Ubuntu as my OS. It's the only computer I have and I would really appreciate being able to use the Watch Instantly feature. It's tv shows like Lost that I can't get anywhere else (legally and without hulu's restrictions) that I really want.

I just wanted to suggest something about instant streaming for TV shows. It would be really excellent if you could access the play buttons for the individual episodes from the show's main page instead of having to find it each time through the genres in the watch instantly tab or having to add it to your instant queue. Especially with something like Law and Order where you don't have to watch the show sequentially, it'd be very nice.

Wow! No LOST Season 5, and it takes 4-8 weeks to get a new release with Blu-Ray, and you have to pay extra for the privilege. Fun stuff.

Oh Netflix, for the love of all that is holy, when are you going to support Linux? My family only uses Linux. We don't use Windows on any of our PCs! Why would you offer a service that is completely useless for an ever-growing community of users?
How much did Microsoft stuff in your pockets to "convince" you to use Silverlight and DRM, as opposed to any of the other alternatives? (Streaming video in MPEG-4 or AVC, Flash, etc.) Not only would other methods work in any browser, they would also work in any operating system!
But no, of course not! "Linux users don't really exist, right?" You guys keep telling yourself that as Microsoft's ship starts sinking during this recession, since enterprise businesses and consumers are looking for alternatives to save themselves money.
Get with the times, Netflix. Windows is not the only operating system in existence, and the public is starting to become cynical about proprietary garbage.
Please add more classic cartoons like He-Man, She-Ra, Smurfs, and so on to the streaming options.
I am disappointed like several others than Lost Season 5 is not streaming like it was stated earlier however the first nine episodes are on Hulu.com and abc.com There are a few short ad breaks but at least you can get caught up. Its what I did :)

I am seriously considering a cancellation of my Netflix account. One of the only reasons I have it is to watch LOST. I wasn't even that mad, until I read this post "promising" to make LOST available over a month ago. What a joke!! LOST fans we must stick together and ban Netflix until they post season 5. Who's with me??? If they have massive account cancellations from LOST fans, maybe they will post it. Heck, it's not that hard to cancel and resubscribe (if they post season 5). I am calling CS right now!! Be sure to mention this Lynn Tran when you call. At least Hulu has 9 of the episodes, and they are free!! Who needs Netflix when I can get better service elsewhere for free??
for all the complainers out there, Lost Season 5 has not been released on DVD yet, so I'm not sure why you would expect it to be available for streaming. I'm sure that once it is released in in December (12/8) it will be available for streaming.
It's not Netflix's fault the DVD release was moved out to 12/8.
