Congratulations on your new project! I'm sure you'd get a lot more responses, though, if you put back the link to this blog from the Netflix site. Yep, that's right, the link is gone. You have to type in the URL or go via "Movie Lovers - A Netflix Community" to get here.
Perhaps not the smartest move on the same day you launch a charity...
Very cool! I'm very impressed to see donations to good causes at this time of the year, especially under such tough economic times. Hats off to you!
On a side note... Any plans to make the gift plans Blu-Ray plans or the ability to add the option to a plan for the extra $1 per month? This lack of ability is holding me back from buying one for a friend. He, like countless others I'm sure, is getting a Blu-Ray player for Christmas. I can't imagine why you wouldn't at least add the option, or teach phone representatives how to do it. They say it can't be done as well. Impossible.
I wish the 'holiday gift' was Linux. Still no mention of it, though.

I would love to give a Netflix subscription to my Mom, but she doesn't have access to the Internet. Is there any way she can select movies without going online?

As a new customer I am not very happy. You have no means for me to contact you, other than through a "non-related" blog or by phone which I detest given the automated delays and barrage of advertising. In addition, I received a "damaged" DVD and when reported was advised via a "non-reply" email to immediately return the DVD. In so doing, I received no credit for it. Having watched it only once and within 24 hours of when I received it, I returned it the very next day. Because I am on the very basic plan, 2 per month and have an older computer, I can't watch anything online nor get another DVD before my next month's billing which is over 3 weeks away. If a DVD is received, damaged and in this case was barely viewable, skipped, paused and jumped, one should be entitled to a replacement, not penalized. At this point I have a rather sour taste in my mouth and have definitely changed my mind about upgrading my subscription.
I agree with the "Anonymous" comment above. I have seen no place on this site to make a reliable interaction with a human being besides an obnoxious phone line. I recently received a damaged DVD, and I don't mean merely scratched (although it was that, too). I mean, broken... huge crack down half of it. This is not the first time I've had problems playing a DVD, which leads me to believe that you don't have a policy to check DVDs BEFORE you send them out. Would it take an extra two seconds to check a DVD before you put it in the mail? I better not get penalized for this, or you're going to lose more than just me as a customer (friends & family as well).

Sliders episode The Good, the Bad and the Wealthy in season 1 and 2 is completely unwatchable. Thank you for having such a useless contact system.
You guys are kidding, right? You can report DVD problems in the Your Account area. The replacement movie has always shipped to me before they got the scratched one back. I get being ticked off if you're only getting two a month but how exactly are you imagining that you will get "penalized" if they immediately send you a replacement?
This is for everyone complaining that there is "no means to contact" netflix and proceed to put their complaint as a comment...

Hey - I am kind of let down by the Roku - instant watch. The movies on it are well - the bottom of the barrel! Also, some are not in voice sink and some (like Horseland kids series) has the same show contents under different titles!
I am recovering from surgery and we thought this would great - but its no better than regular TV. Please fix this!
