Hey there. Steve Swasey here, Netflix VP of Corp. Communications. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and I enjoyed the NewTeeVee Conference yesterday in San Francisco, where Reed gave the afternoon keynote.
You've probably read about Reed's presentation in the blogosphere -- some of the greats covered it: Om Malik, GigaOm; Chris Albrecht, NewTeeVee; Will Richmond, Videonuze; Rafat Ali, PaidContent; Mike Kaltschnee, HackingNetflix.
Not reported though was a behind-the-scenes exchange between Reed and YouTube sensation "Fred" (15-year-old Nebraskan Lucas Cruikshank).
Reed introduced himself to the young phenom, who said he's a member of Netflix.
Reed congratulated Lucas on his composure -- the kid interviewed on stage with Chris Albrecht like an industry veteran -- adding, "Great that success hasn't gone to your head."
Replied Lucas: "You too."

Where is closed captioning for Watch Now movies?
I see that you've been asked to add this for more than a year...NBC, ABC, and few other media companies already incorporated cc as an optional feature for their shows...
Where is that for the Deaf and Hard of hearing?

I am going off topic and would like to thank you for your work towards Streaming movies. I anxiously awaiting instant viewing as a common everyday thing and I am sure netflix will be at the forefront. I love the Roku box on our T.V.
given that I can't find an email to send this comment to, and the comments have been disabled on both the requests for feedback and instant watching blog posts, I'll post here- what do we need to do to get the "watch instantly" option on all profiles (or as an option for additional profiles) on an account? My husband and I each have a profile so we can each have our own queues, but I don't know which of my queued films are available on watch instantly. Worse for my husband's sense of manhood, when I watch a film such as "Becoming Jane," it shows up as being watched by him. Please, I'm begging you, you must fix this to stop the mocking he receives on this account!
Lacking a clear place to post feedback, here is mine:
When adding movies to my queue, something that is a new release for say tomorrow, does not have the option for "move to the number one position".
I know it is not out yet, but I want it on the top of the queue please.
Also, I thank you for continuing to provide the link to the old New Releases page, since this is where I almost exclusively pick movies.
I may be alone in this, but I'd much prefer to see the "Member Average" star rating for movies first rather than the "Best Guess for [member]" star rating. The Member Average is based on real data, not a guess, and it's more generally informative. Reading the rollover description I can probably guess pretty well on my own how much I might like the movie, it's the community rating that's more meaningful, at least at first glance.
I really love Netflix, you all do a great job providing a wonderful service at a reasonable cost.

I've been following all the tech blogs about how studio films are being plucked from Netflix Watch Now because of licensing issues. Now is an excellent time to add quality festival films to your site. People want to see these films and there are several small companies like mine that own the licensing rights to tons of these films. I've tried for a year to contact someone at Netflix to no avail, so as Head of Communications, perhaps you can recommend someone. We have a catalogue of more than forty award winning festival films that are crying for your audience. Our films can be seen at http://www.nelsonmadisonfilms.com/indiecoopfilms.php and would make excellent replacements for the pulled studio films. Our films are on iTunes, CinemaNow, etc., so I think they should be on Watch Now.
