Rubin in Chicago

I will be speaking at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry on Oct 19, and i'd like to invite any Chi-folks out there to come by and say hello. The talk will be about my book "Droidmaker: George Lucas and the Digital Revolution" -- which admittedly has little to do with Netflix Community, but hey, it does have to do with filmmaking, technology and business, and anyway, i'll be there answering questions, and it's a fine time to introduce yourself. October 19.

  1. Woo hoo! Moving back home to Chicago has finally paid off! j/k

Conveniently, I'm taking a "just don't go to work" vacation that week, so I'll see if I can stop by. I actually took a class dedicated entirely to how Lucas shaped the industry when I was in film school, so it sounds interesting to me!

  2. Sounds fun. I have friends there so will try to make a long weekend of it. We will, I take it, be expected to wear disguises and electronically alter our voices to protect you from privacy infringement litigation?
