Get some movies on instant play that are worth watching

Watch now used to work, but stopped with DRM update and administrator rights issues, I think after I installed the Vista Service Pack.

Netflix customer support was friendly, but unable to solve the problem.

No one has posted a solution on the Web. I'll save the rant on DRM. If anyone has solved this problem, please post it here or elsewhere.
Thanks,

Can I just say that it is nearly a YEAR after most of these posts about instant watching and people's comments...and still there is no instant watching option for Mac users!!! I just recieved a three month subscription for Netflix as a gift, my first time using it. And I love it...but I will NOT be renewing my subscription because I cannot use the instant watch feature as a Mac user. Severely disappointed and bummed out about how long it is taking to get this up and running.

The selection sucks SO bad I'd only stay a member if you paid me. I'm canceling this week. (I want to get my time out of my trial - whatev tho.) The worst section is the Late Night Comedies - kind of the ones I most want to watch instantly. Not one in the whole selection is worth watching, period. I'm sticking with Blockbuster. Why even offer this p*** poor pathetic non-service? Get a clue!

I too have become quite upset. Switched from Linux to Windows so I can use more streaming media for my HTPC. Was all excited that I would finally be able to use the Netflix Watch Now feature on my TV, but the DRM blocks video out on my Svideo port on my video card to my TV. You have a chance to be an industry leader, yet you keep many of your users behind the pack. I don't want be a thief, but if I search in Google for "online movie watching" your 4th in the search behind 3 illegal moving watching sites. These work on my TV out because of no DRM. Help us be legal. Set an example that most people want to pay for quality viewing for a good price. Drop hardware restrictive DRM, or give me one of your new boxes for free.

As far as instant watching goes, I mainly watch a lot of anime. Due to the fact that, in most anime, the American voice actors are horrible, I was wondering if there was any way to give us the option of watching the videos in the original Japanese with English subtitles.

Last month,I was able to watch instant movies on my Laptop from Netflix.
But this month I am not able to do the same....it gives an error message
'Bad Request'
I uninstalled everything that i had installed the last month, as i thought that might had caused problem. But nothing helped. I also contacted the technical support of the netflix but nothing helped. they kept saying that there is something wrong on my side...they were not able to fix my problem.

This is an awesome feature and the whole reason that I switched over from Blockbuster. I would suggest that movies with a wait on them for DVD be the first ones moved over to instant. I don't know what the process is for getting movies to instant but transferring the ones with wait times would be great.

I’m not surprised that there seems to be no provision for leaving a compliment on the Netflix web site, so I’m posting my compliment here.

I’ve been working with PCs for 32 years (honest), which is 5 years before the IBM PC came out. I am a great movie fan, so I’ve been excited about the convenience and instant gratification of watching movies on the web.

That said, I’ve tried several of the legitimate movie downloading sites and been greatly disappointed. Overpriced and the “once started, must finish watching in 24 hours” policy is irritating and absurd, particularly for people who work for a living. For example, if I start watching a movie on Monday night at 7:00 PM and don’t finish it, I’d have to rush home from work on Tuesday and try to finish it before 7:00 PM, which, obviously, is impractical.

Netflix’s instant watching has neither of these problems. Reasonably priced and no time limit on finishing a movie. I’m delighted.

And, as a customer and a programmer with more than 30 years programming experience, I’m very impressed with the software which makes Netflix’s instant watching possible. Simple, effective and reliable. I’ve watched ten or so movies during the last couple of months and have had no problem whatsoever.

Netflix has done it right. Of course, like everyone else, I’d be delighted if more recently released movies were available, but I’ve found plenty of movies which I want to watch in the current library of movies available for instant watching. (Note to Netflix: I’d be happy to pay a couple of bucks per movie to watch more recently released movies – if the “finish it in 24 hours” policy did not apply.)

I’ve never complimented an entertainment company before for their content or delivery, but Netflix has certainly earned my praise. Netflix probably has me as a customer for life. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the updates to the Watch Instantly. It's fun to see the suggestions from early comments implemented later.

I add my support to the Firefox/Linux/Mac call, but that's not what I'm writing about.

Is there a way we can choose a setting, in our preferences, that if we watch a movie instantly it gets removed from our queue (or perhaps, at the end of the movie, that option could come up)?

As someone who manages my gigantic queue only rarely, I've had a couple times where I watched something instantly and then, a couple months later, received it on DVD because I had failed to go back and remove it.

Thanks!

My internet connection consistently measures >6Mbps down and 1Mbps up with speakeasy.net however I am having trouble watching instantly.

Always get "your connection is too slow for immediate playback" and on those rare occassions it starts playing immediately I soon get "your connection has slowed"

What can I do?

Is there anyway to rewind the movie a few minutes back and not have it sit there and reload the section that you just watched? This very annoying.
